tender document analysis:
thoroughly review and understand tender documents, specifications, drawings, bills of quantities (boq), and contractual terms and conditions for civil engineering projects (., roads, bridges, buildings, water treatment plants, infrastructure development).
identify potential risks, ambiguities, and opportunities within the tender documents.
cost estimation & pricing:
prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for all project components, including materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors, overheads, and profit margins.
obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for various items.
conduct market research to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing.
develop cash flow projections and financial models for bids.
bid preparation & submission:
formulate comprehensive and competitive tender proposals, ensuring compliance with all tender requirements and deadlines.
prepare technical submissions, methodologies, work schedules, and project execution plans as part of the bid.
coordinate with internal departments (., procurement, legal, planning) and external stakeholders during the tender preparation process.
participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gain a clear understanding of project scope and site conditions.
risk assessment & mitigation:
identify and assess commercial, technical, and contractual risks associated with each tender.
propose strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning within the bid.
post-tender activities:
participate in post-tender negotiations and clarifications.
analyze reasons for successful and unsuccessful bids to inform future strategies.
