primary responsibilities
a. operations & management
retail: oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash register management, and general store cleanliness and organization.
warehouse: manage all warehouse/material store operations, including the receiving, storing, and issuing of materials and goods.
ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and health, safety, and security standards.
coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and other departments (., logistics, finance) for timely product/material movement.
identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in store or warehouse operations.
b. inventory and stock control
monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
conduct regular inventory counts (cycle counts, monthly, or annual) and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
retail: implement merchandising strategies, manage product displays, and optimize the store layout for maximum customer engagement and sales.
warehouse: ensure proper storage and preservation of materials, often following methods like first-in, first-out (fifo). maintain records using systems like sap or other erp/wms software.
c. sales and customer service (primarily retail)
implement sales strategies and promotional activities to drive store revenue and achieve sales targets.
supervise and guide store staff to deliver excellent customer service.
handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service issues professionally and ensure prompt resolution.
analyze sales data and financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
d. team leadership and staff supervision
supervise, train, and motivate store or warehouse staff to ensure high productivity and adherence to procedures.
manage staff scheduling and workload to ensure optimal coverage during all operating hours.
conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
