Teaching (40%)
Develop and deliver comprehensive lectures, laboratory sessions, and small group discussions in medical physiology to undergraduate medical students
Design and implement innovative teaching methodologies that engage students in active learning
Contribute to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and educational policies
Mentor and advise graduate students, medical students, and junior faculty
Participate in interprofessional education initiatives across health science programs
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
Research (40%)
Establish and maintain an independent, externally-funded research program in physiology or related fields
Publish research findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals
Present research at national and international scientific conferences
Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines on research initiatives
Supervise research projects of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
Serve as principal investigator or co-investigator on research grants
Translate research findings into clinical applications where appropriate
Service (20%)
Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
Participate in faculty governance and institutional initiatives
Contribute to professional organizations and societies in the field of physiology
Review manuscripts for scientific journals and grant proposals for funding agencies
Engage in community outreach and public education activities
Participate in student recruitment and retention efforts
Contribute to departmental strategic planning and program assessment
Qualifications
Required
PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in Physiology or related biomedical science field
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience at the university level, preferably in medical education
Established record of research and scholarly publications in physiology
Demonstrated success in obtaining external research funding
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
