operating lab equipment: use laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrometers, and other tools to conduct tests and analyze samples.

recording and analyzing results: maintain accurate records of lab results and ensure all data is properly logged and documented.

ensuring quality control: ensure that laboratory processes and procedures meet quality control standards to ensure accurate and reliable results.

maintenance and calibration: regularly maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure its functionality and accuracy.

safety and compliance: follow strict safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and guidelines.

reporting findings: prepare reports or summaries of test results for review by senior technicians, supervisors, or scientists. communicate findings clearly.

assisting in research and development: in research labs, assist in the development of new tests, procedures, or technologies.

inventory management: keep track of supplies and reagents, notifying supervisors when resources are running low.

skills and qualifications:

education: a high school diploma is required, with a degree or certificate in laboratory technology, biology, chemistry, or a related field typically required for most positions.

experience: previous laboratory experience or internships are often preferred.
