key responsibilities:
technical support:
provide first-level support for desktop-related issues, including hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
respond to help desk tickets, emails, and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
troubleshooting:
diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and other end-user devices.
escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
hardware setup and maintenance:
install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware components, such as cpus, ram, hard drives, and peripherals.
conduct routine maintenance and upgrades on desktop systems.
software installation and configuration:
install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems and standard desktop applications.
assist users with software-related issues and provide training when necessary.
user account management:
create and manage user accounts, profiles, and access permissions.
reset passwords and assist users with account-related issues.
endpoint security:
implement and enforce endpoint security measures, including antivirus software and system updates.
collaborate with the security team to address security incidents on end-user devices.
documentation:
maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
document troubleshooting procedures and solutions for common issues.
communication:
communicate technical information to non-technical users in a clear and understandable manner.
provide updates on issue resolution and follow-up with users as needed.
collaboration:
collaborate with other it support teams to ensure seamless resolution of issues.
work with system administrators and network engineers to address connectivity and access issues.
qualifications and skills:
associate's degree or equivalent in information technology or a related field.
entry-level experience in desktop support or a similar role.
basic knowledge of desktop operating systems (windows, macos) and common productivity applications.
