we are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused steward to join our microbrewery taproom team. the ideal candidate is passionate about craft beer, food service, and creating memorable guest experiences. as a steward, you will be responsible for serving guests, guiding them through our food and beverage selections, and ensuring top-notch hospitality.

key responsibilities:

guest service: greet and seat guests, take orders, and provide recommendations on food and craft beer pairings.

beer knowledge: educate guests about our beer selection, brewing process, and flavour profiles to enhance their experience.

order management: accurately relay orders to the bar and kitchen, ensuring timely service.

serving & presentation: serve beer and food following proper pouring and presentation standards.

upselling: suggest additional menu items and promotions to enhance the guest experience.

cleanliness & organisation: maintain a clean and organised taproom, including tables, bar areas, and service stations.

payment processing: handle cash and card transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

customer engagement: build rapport with guests, handle inquiries, and resolve any concerns professionally.

compliance & safety: follow all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations, ensuring responsible beverage service.

qualifications & skills:

prior experience as a waiter, bartender, or server in a brewery, bar, or restaurant is preferred.

strong communication and interpersonal skills.

ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.

basic math skills for handling transactions and billing.

team player with a positive attitude and customer-first approach.

must meet the legal age requirement for serving alcohol in the location of employment.

flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
