Location: Nashik, Maharashtra, India (This role is predominantly on-site, involving work outdoors and within nursery facilities.)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Plant Nursery Manager to oversee all operational aspects of our plant nursery in Nashik. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the cultivation, propagation, and care of a diverse range of plants, managing inventory, leading a team, ensuring exceptional customer service, and contributing to the overall business growth. This role requires a strong understanding of horticulture, effective management skills, and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Plant Care & Cultivation:

Develop and implement comprehensive plant care schedules, including watering, fertilizing, pest and disease control, pruning, and repotting.

Oversee plant propagation activities (., cuttings, grafting, seeding) and ensure optimal growing conditions (light, temperature, humidity).

Monitor plant health, diagnose issues, and apply appropriate treatments (organic or chemical) safely and effectively.

Manage irrigation systems and ensure efficient water usage.

Inventory & Stock Management:

Maintain accurate inventory records of all plants, seeds, pots, soil, fertilizers, and other nursery supplies.

Plan and execute procurement of new plant stock and materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.

Oversee receiving, tagging, and proper placement of incoming inventory.

Manage plant rotation and merchandising to maximize sales and minimize waste.

Team Leadership & Management:

Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate a team of nursery staff, gardeners, and laborers.

Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.

Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and safety.

Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.

Sales & Customer Service:

Oversee retail sales operations, ensuring attractive plant displays and a welcoming environment.

Provide expert advice and guidance to customers on plant selection, care, and landscaping.

Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special orders professionally.

Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and drive sales.

Operations & Business Management:

Manage the nursery budget, track expenses, and monitor sales performance.

Develop and implement operational procedures for efficiency and quality.

Ensure compliance with all relevant agricultural, environmental, and health & safety regulations.

Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic appeal of the nursery.

Explore opportunities for nursery expansion, new plant varieties, or value-added services.
