Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Lead the preparation of the annual plant budget, forecasts, and long-range financial plans, collaborating closely with operations and other departments.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvements.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Plant Head and operations team to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Cost Accounting & Management:
Oversee the entire cost accounting function, including standard costing, variance analysis (material, labor, overhead), and production order settlement.
Analyze manufacturing costs, production volumes, and efficiencies to identify key drivers of profitability and areas for improvement.
Develop and implement robust cost control measures.
Inventory Management & Valuation:
Manage and reconcile inventory valuation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
Monitor inventory levels, obsolescence, and provide insights to optimize working capital.
Participate in physical inventory counts and reconciliation processes.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports specific to plant performance (P&L, Balance Sheet extracts, Cash Flow).
Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), statutory requirements, and internal financial policies and procedures.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to plant financials.
Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Management:
Evaluate and analyze capital investment proposals, including ROI and payback period calculations.
Track capital expenditure spending against budget and project timelines.
Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain strong internal controls within the plant's financial processes to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
Identify control weaknesses and implement corrective actions.
Business Partnership:
Act as a key financial advisor to the Plant Head and operations leadership.
Drive a culture of cost consciousness and financial accountability across the plant.
Participate in operational reviews, production meetings, and process improvement initiatives (., Lean, Six Sigma).
Team Leadership:
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of finance/accounting professionals at the plant level (if applicable).
Communication:
Liaise effectively with corporate finance, sales, supply chain, and other departments.
Communicate financial performance and insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Proficiency in Marathi and Hindi is essential for effective communication with local plant staff, vendors, and sometimes local authorities. Excellent command of English is required for corporate communication and reporting.
