The Nursery Manager will be responsible for the overall daily operations, management, and strategic development of the nursery/preschool. This leadership role involves overseeing staff, curriculum implementation, parent engagement, health and safety compliance, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality early childhood education. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader with a deep understanding of child development, strong administrative skills, and a genuine passion for creating an exceptional learning experience for young children.
Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to schedules.
Manage facilities, including maintenance, cleanliness, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
Ensure proper staff scheduling and resource allocation.
Curriculum & Pedagogy:
Supervise the implementation of the chosen curriculum, ensuring it is engaging, age-appropriate, and promotes holistic child development.
Monitor teaching quality and provide guidance and support to teachers to enhance their instructional practices.
Stay updated with best practices in early childhood education and integrate them into the program.
Staff Leadership & Development:
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursery staff, including teachers and support personnel.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.
Conduct regular staff meetings, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities.
Child Welfare & Safeguarding:
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the nursery.
Implement and strictly adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures.
Manage child admissions, attendance, and record-keeping meticulously.
Address any behavioral issues or special needs with appropriate strategies and support.
Parent Engagement:
Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with parents and guardians.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, activities, and any concerns.
Organize parent-teacher meetings, workshops, and school events to foster community involvement.
Compliance & Administration:
Ensure the nursery complies with all local and national regulatory requirements for early childhood education, health, and safety (., local municipal regulations, educational board guidelines).
Manage administrative tasks, including budgeting, fee collection support, and maintaining accurate records.
Prepare and submit necessary reports to school management/authorities.
Promotional Activities:
Assist in marketing and promotional activities to attract new admissions.
Conduct tours for prospective parents and explain the nursery's philosophy and offerings.
