The Pouching Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining pouching machines to produce high-quality flexible pouches according to production schedules and quality standards. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and efficiency within a manufacturing environment in Nashik. The operator will ensure the machine runs smoothly, diagnose minor issues, and perform routine maintenance to maximize output and minimize waste.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
Set up pouching machines (., stand-up pouch, 3-side seal, zipper pouch machines) according to production orders, including loading film rolls, adjusting tension, heat settings, cutting blades, and sealing parameters.
Read and interpret production specifications, job orders, and technical drawings to ensure correct setup.
Start and operate the machine, monitoring its performance and making necessary adjustments during the run to maintain quality and efficiency.
Ensure proper alignment of film, consistent sealing, and accurate pouch dimensions.
Quality Control:
Perform in-process quality checks on pouches, including visual inspection for defects (., seals, print registration, lamination issues, wrinkles), measuring dimensions, and conducting seal integrity tests (., burst test, leak test).
Identify and report any quality deviations or machine malfunctions immediately to the supervisor or quality department.
Segregate and label defective pouches for rejection or rework.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Conduct routine preventive maintenance on the pouching machine, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor component replacement as per schedule.
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform basic repairs to minimize downtime.
Report major mechanical or electrical problems to the maintenance team promptly.
Production Monitoring and Documentation:
Monitor machine output, material consumption, and waste levels.
Accurately complete production logs, quality check sheets, and downtime records.
Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards.
Material Handling:
Load and unload heavy rolls of film/laminate using appropriate lifting equipment or with assistance, ensuring safe handling.
Manage film inventory at the machine, ensuring continuous operation.
Safety and Housekeeping:
Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols during maintenance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area around the machine.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, maintenance staff, and quality personnel.
Assist and train new operators as needed.
