Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India (This role is primarily office-based for programming, with regular presence on the factory floor for program testing and optimization.)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Laser Machine Programmer to join our manufacturing team in Pune. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and managing programs for advanced laser machines to ensure efficient material utilization, high precision, and consistent quality of manufactured components. This role requires expertise in specialized CAD/CAM software, a deep understanding of laser processing principles, and strong collaboration with production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Optimization:
Analyze complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine precise laser cutting, engraving, welding, or marking requirements, including dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for various laser machines (., Fiber Lasers, CO2 Lasers specify types of machines and brands like Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, LVD, Mazak) using specialized CAD/CAM software (., SigmaNEST, Lantek, Bystronic BySoft 7, Trumpf TruTops, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc. specify relevant software).
Determine and set optimal laser parameters (., laser power, cutting speed, focal length, gas pressure, nozzle type, pulse duration, frequency) for diverse materials (., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass) and thicknesses.
Generate efficient nesting layouts on raw material sheets/boards to minimize material waste and optimize machine run-time.
Simulation & Validation:
Simulate programs extensively within the CAD/CAM software to verify tool paths, identify potential errors, detect collisions, and ensure error-free operation before programs are sent to the machine.
Collaborate closely with laser machine operators to test and validate new or modified programs on the shop floor, making immediate adjustments as necessary.
Troubleshooting & Process Improvement:
Continuously review and analyze existing programs to identify opportunities for efficiency gains, cycle time reduction, and improved part quality.
Troubleshoot programming-related issues or quality deviations encountered during production runs.
Suggest improvements to laser machining processes, tooling, and fixturing techniques.
Documentation & Data Management:
Create and maintain comprehensive program documentation, setup sheets, operational instructions, and production records.
Manage and control versions of all CNC laser programs, ensuring proper archiving and retrieval.
Maintain a library of material-specific laser parameters and best practices.
Technical Support & Collaboration:
Provide expert technical guidance and support to laser machine operators on program interpretation, machine settings, and troubleshooting.
Work collaboratively with design engineers to ensure designs are manufacturable and optimize for laser processing.
Stay updated with advancements in laser technology, programming software features, and new material processing techniques.
