Position – Geologist – Marble-Zambia

As a Geologist specializing in Marble, you will be responsible for conducting geological surveys, analyses, and assessments related to marble extraction and processing. Your role will involve fieldwork, data collection, laboratory analysis, and interpretation to guide efficient and sustainable marble quarrying operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Evaluation: Assess potential marble quarry sites based on geological surveys, topography, accessibility, and environmental considerations.

Geological Mapping: Conduct detailed geological mapping to identify marble deposits, stratigraphy, structural features, and other geological characteristics.

Sample Collection: Gather rock samples from different strata for laboratory analysis, including mineral composition, strength, and other relevant properties.

Laboratory Analysis: Coordinate with laboratory staff to perform various tests on marble samples, such as petrographic analysis, chemical composition analysis, and physical property testing.

Data Interpretation: Analyze geological and laboratory data to understand marble deposit characteristics, quality variations, and suitability for extraction.

Resource Estimation: Utilize geological data and statistical methods to estimate marble reserves, volume, and quality at various quarry sites.

Environmental Assessment: Assess the environmental impact of marble extraction activities and propose mitigation measures to minimize ecological disruption.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing marble quarrying, land use, and environmental protection.

Safety Protocols: Develop and implement safety protocols for geological fieldwork and quarry operations to prevent accidents and ensure worker safety.

Technical Reports: Prepare comprehensive technical reports summarizing geological findings, resource assessments, and recommendations for quarry development and management.
