As the Design Head, you will be responsible for defining and driving the overall design vision, strategy, and execution across all products, services, and brand touchpoints. You will lead, mentor, and grow a diverse team of designers, ensuring design excellence, consistency, and alignment with business objectives. This senior leadership role requires a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on design expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to foster a culture of creativity and innovation.
Responsibilities
Design Vision & Strategy:
Define and articulate a compelling design vision and strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals and brand identity.
Drive innovation in design processes, tools, and methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Stay abreast of global design trends, technological advancements, and consumer insights, integrating them into the design roadmap.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Lead, inspire, and mentor a multi-disciplinary design team (., UI/UX designers, industrial designers, graphic designers, product designers).
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance design culture.
Oversee recruitment, professional development, and performance management for the design department.
Provide constructive feedback and guidance to elevate the design quality and skill sets of the team.
Design Execution & Quality:
Oversee the entire design process from research and conceptualization to prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, user-centered, and visually compelling designs across all projects.
Establish and enforce design guidelines, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and excellence.
Personally contribute to critical design projects, providing expert oversight and hands-on input when necessary.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with senior leadership in Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to integrate design thinking throughout the product lifecycle.
Advocate for the user experience and design's strategic value across the organization.
Present design strategies, concepts, and outcomes to executive stakeholders, clearly articulating design rationale and business impact.
Brand Consistency & Experience:
Ensure a cohesive and consistent brand experience across all touchpoints, digital and physical.
Champion user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user satisfaction.
Resource & Budget Management:
Manage the design department's budget, resources, and tools effectively to optimize output and efficiency.
