As an Automation Engineer / Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, programming, testing, and commissioning of automated systems and industrial controls. This role involves working on projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring the seamless integration of hardware and software components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver efficient, reliable, and innovative automation solutions that meet specific project requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Interpret client requirements, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and functional specifications to design automation solutions.
Develop detailed control system architectures, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Select appropriate automation components, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), SCADA systems, sensors, actuators, and drives.
Design and configure control panels, ensuring adherence to safety standards and efficient layout.
Programming & Configuration:
Develop, program, and debug PLC logic (., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram) for various automation tasks.
Configure and program HMI/SCADA screens for operator interface and data visualization.
Implement and optimize control algorithms for process control, motion control, and discrete automation.
Integrate various hardware components with control systems.
Testing & Commissioning:
Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) to validate system functionality and performance.
Perform on-site commissioning and start-up of automation systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
Tune control loops and optimize system parameters for peak performance.
Project Management Support:
Assist the Project Manager with project planning, scheduling, and resource estimation.
Track project progress, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
Manage documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and as-built drawings.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing automation systems, diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently.
Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with clients to understand their needs, provide technical guidance, and ensure their satisfaction.
Collaborate effectively with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, and production teams.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations and reports to stakeholders.
Standards & Safety:
Ensure all designs and implementations comply with relevant industry standards (., IEC , ISA, NEC), safety regulations, and local codes.
Promote and adhere to safety best practices in all project phases.
