order fulfillment: prepare and serve all menu items, including scooping ice cream, making sundaes, milkshakes, coffees, and other cafe treats, ensuring quality and presentation standards are consistently met.
sales maximization: actively upsell and cross-sell products (., suggesting a cone upgrade, adding toppings, promoting limited-time offers) to increase average transaction value.
cash handling & pos: accurately process all transactions using the point of sale (pos) system, handle cash, card, and digital payments, and ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of the shift.
feedback & complaints: politely and efficiently handle customer feedback and resolve complaints to ensure a positive customer experience and foster loyalty.
ii. operations & cafe management (the operations aspect)
inventory management: monitor stock levels for ice cream, toppings, cones, beverages, and supplies. conduct physical counts, report or place restock orders, and receive/organize deliveries.
cleanliness & hygiene: maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all areas of the cafe (serving area, seating, food prep areas, and equipment). adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
equipment maintenance: operate, clean, and maintain cafe equipment, including ice cream machines, freezers, blenders, and coffee makers, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
opening/closing procedures: execute detailed opening and closing checklists, which include setting up/breaking down the service area, preparing necessary ingredients, securing the premises, and completing end-of-day reports.
operational efficiency: monitor workflow to ensure fast and efficient service, especially during peak hours, and suggest improvements to processes.
iii. reporting & administration
daily reporting: track and report daily sales figures, expenses, and inventory usage to management.
promotions support: assist in implementing and monitoring in-store promotions and marketing displays.
