Job Description

medication dispensing:

accurately interpret and dispense prescriptions from licensed healthcare practitioners.

review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and potential drug interactions, allergies, contraindications, or dosage errors.

ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of all medications.

patient counseling:

provide clear and comprehensive counseling to patients on the proper use, dosage, potential side effects, and storage of their medications.

answer patient questions regarding over-the-counter (otc) medications, health products, and general health concerns.

pharmacy operations & management:

oversee and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.

maintain accurate patient records and prescription files in compliance with privacy regulations.

supervise and train pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow.

manage cash transactions, billing, and insurance claims processing.

regulatory compliance & quality assurance:

ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and national pharmacy laws, regulations (., pharmacy act, drugs and cosmetics act), and ethical guidelines.

maintain high standards of quality control and patient safety within the pharmacy.

participate in regular audits and inspections.

health promotion & consultation:

provide basic health screenings or vaccinations (if applicable and certified).

offer advice on healthy living, disease prevention, and medication adherence.

collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

problem solving:

resolve complex prescription-related issues, insurance queries, and patient concerns effectively and professionally.
