key responsibilities
1. strategic leadership and vision
establish direction: develop, implement, and continuously improve the institute's long-term strategy, vision, mission, and core values to ensure alignment with organizational goals and excellence in its field (., teaching, research, training).
resource mobilization: play a proactive role in increasing funding support through government, industry, and private sources; promoting consultancy and expanding external partnerships.
stakeholder relations: build and maintain effective relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including senior administration, government bodies, industry partners, alumni, and the broader community.
2. academic and program oversight
curriculum management: oversee the development, review, and maintenance of academic programs and curriculum to ensure they meet the needs of students/the market, align with institutional standards, and comply with accrediting bodies.
quality assurance: implement robust quality assurance processes for all services, teaching methods, and research initiatives.
program development: direct the development and delivery of innovative programs, ensuring they are coordinated, feasible, and address the needs of all constituents.
3. operational and administrative management
financial management: develop and oversee the department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively, expenditures align with institutional goals, and all financial policies are strictly followed.
compliance: ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and institutional policies, including those related to health, safety, and governance.
facility management: manage and oversee the physical resources of the institute, including classrooms, office spaces, and equipment.
4. faculty and staff management
recruitment and evaluation: lead the process for recruiting, hiring, and evaluating faculty and staff, aiming to attract the best talent.
professional development: provide clear, strong, and motivational leadership, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting the professional development and mentoring of staff.
team management: determine workloads, appraise performance, and provide guidance and feedback to team members to ensure maximum utilization and effectiveness.
