Development & qualification of supplier product / process of new purchased parts through the DGSS APQP process working with Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and the supplier (PPAP, Supplier process audits)
Support Supplier APQP (Advanced Product & Quality Planning) process to develop suppliers and products to the point of successful/on-time PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and full production readiness based on Modatek and Customer needs
Coordinates with customer service, engineering, manufacturing engineering, procurement and supplier quality on component quality / delivery issues and supplier initiatives
Provide support role to Modatek Quality to ensure supplier on-time PPAP, Run at Rate and Delivery
Performs capability assessments with key suppliers to evaluate the application of advanced quality tools, manufacturing capabilities, material management, and lean maturity
Interfaces with the suppliers' engineering, manufacturing and procurement departments the respective internal Honda departments to drive cost effective manufacturing process improvements that optimize throughput and minimize waste
Perform in-depth quality system assessments across commodities to confirm supplier structure, level of lean implementation, and effectiveness of the quality management system
Assists in the development, approval, and maintenance of material specifications, vendor instructions, quality assurance procedures, supplier documents such as Quality Control Plans
Collects and analyzes quality information from various quality systems and develops reports as needed for senior management review
Review and assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems
