JOB DESCRIPTION OF OPHTHALMIC COUNSELLOR

1 To do the counseling of the patients those are been directed by the doctors to the Counsellor

2 To schedule the surgery as per the patients convenience

3 To coordinate with the patient for surgery based on cash / credit after Counselling

4 To send the pre-authorization to the insurance companies along with necessary documents

5 To coordinate with all the private and government insurance companies post Counselling to get the pre-authorization sanctioning

6 To resolve the queries raised by the insurance companies on a daily basis.

7 Send the claim documents submission online post-surgery with all the necessary documents.

8 Visit the insurance companies (., CGHS, ECHS, RAILWAYS, METRO, BHEL, CICR, ORDNANCE FACTORY, RRSC etc.) on a monthly basis.

9 To maintain a good relationship with all the insurance companies

10 To ensure if the cash inflow in proper or not

11 To do all the Counselling entries upto date in the software provided.

12 Surgery allotment should be done as per the doctor availability and also looking into the number of surgeries been allotted to a particular doctor on any given date.

13 To help the patients who are willing to go for insurance reimbursements by providing them with necessary documents required.

14 All government insurance document hardcopies are to be submitted personally every 15 days once.

15 All private insurance documents are to be couriered within the stipulated time once all the documents hardcopy are ready.

16 There should be a streamlined communication between the doctor Counsellor patient and the third party involved.

17 The Counsellor should be polite, humble and courteous while Counselling simple and for that matter aggressive patients as well
