JOB DESCRIPTION OF OPD - DOCTOR ASSISTANT

1) Taking the patient inside for OPD consultation

2 ) Counselling the patient post OPD consultation

3) Dilatation of patient

4) Assisting the doctor for OPD consultation

5) Explaining the medication to be taken - as been explained by the doctor

6) Preparing the OPD file

7 )To clean the equipment regularly and to keep it spick and span

8) To regularly clean the chair unit after every patient

9) To maintain the cleanliness of the OPD cabins

10) To check regularly on the drops kept in drawers for expiry

11) To assist the doctor for YAG laser / barrage laser etc

12) To keep a tab on the patients waiting and patients on dilating list in the software

13) They should know to do the automated refraction (AR) for the patients post dilatation

14) They should know to talk in Marathi and should be courteous and down to earth with the

patients while explaining to them

15) They should know to handle specially abled patients to walk them inside and helping them

to sit in the chair unit

16) They should regularly clean the lens set

17) THEY SHOULD KNOW THE SEGREGARTION OF BMW AT THE POINT OF

GENERATION (OPDS)

18) They should keep the patient ready before the arrival of doctors inside the cabin in the

morning

19) They should cross check if the sweeping and mopping of the cabins are been done every 3

hourly by the housekeeping staffs .
