National Institute of Epidemiology

Candidates are invited to attend Walk-In Interview / Written Test between 9.00 AM to 10.00 AM for project posts on contract basis at NIE, Chennai, on the dates mentioned against the post as detailed below (please refer website for changes if any in the date of interview). Qualification : 1st Class Master Degree in Sociology/Social Work/Public Health/Epidemiology/Health care Management from a recognized university with 8 years experience OR 2nd Class Master Degree with PhD degree in relevant subject from a recognized university with 8 years experience OR BDS/B.V.Sc & AH degree recognized DCI/VCI with nine years experience in relevant subject after BDS/B.V.Sc degree. Desirable Qualification and Experience : 1. Additional Post-Doctoral research/ teaching experience in above subjects in recognized institute(s) 2. Knowledge of Computer Applications/Data Management 3. Field experience in public health projects 4. Ability to read, write and speak English 5. Ability to speak Hindi Age Limit : 45 years for UR Candidates (No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC Candidates). Age Relaxation is admissible in respect of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India Rules, in respect of the posts reserved for those categories. Nature of Duties : 1. Overall project management 2. Coordinate the project activities at NIE 3. Design and conduct community and clinic surveys 4. Field visits for supervision to various Indian states 5. Prepare study protocols/SOPs/teaching and training materials 6. Prepare technical reports on status of the program implementation 7. Analyse data and prepare manuscripts 8. Conduct meetings/workshops/training programs 9. Travel anywhere in India for 10-12 days in a month 10. Any other work assigned by the Director/PI/Co-PI / Superior officer Note : This post UR-01 candidate only.
