Overview
The Front-End Developer/UI Desginer will be responsible for developing new technology platforms for Cloudzon. This is a technical role that requires skills and experience developing visually appealing and intuitive interfaces across multiple device sizes and types.
A developer is responsible for the design, layout and coding of a website or web application. They are involved with the technical and graphical aspects of a website - how the site works and how it looks. They are also be involved with the maintenance and update of existing sites.
As a member of a small team, you would be expected to contribute not only to feature development but, also to our development culture from improving our engineering practices, to using new frameworks and languages - in order to ensure that we can build the best applications for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
After establishing the target audience for a web application and identifying the type of content it will host, a web designer/developer will:
- Create visually appealing web pages or interfaces
- Create, edit or modify templates for a CMS or web development framework (such as wordpress)
- Interpret graphic visual or interaction designs in HTML, CSS and Javascript
- Create prototypes using graphic design software and code them once created for PC, phone(android/iphone), and tablet usage
- Programming interaction with JavaScript and/or a library such as jQuery, YUI or Prototype.
- Complete Testing cross-browser, cross-platform, and/or cross-device compatibility for inconsistencies.
- Complete testing for compliance to specified standards such as accessibility standards
- Conduct observational user testing, or reviewing designs against usability heuristics
- Review code for application of industry standard programming best practices. Share best practices with other team members. Establish internal programming best practices.
- Requires extensive interaction in all phases of the web development life cycle as well as engagement of (internal) customer needs and business strategy
- Understand performance metrics and how to optimize performance for improved user experience
- Participate in research, technology/tools evaluation and proof of concepts
- write the programming code, either from scratch or by adapting existing website software and graphics packages to meet business requirements
- Test the website and identify any technical problems
- Upload the site onto a server and register it with different search engines.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent work experience) plus 2+ years' experience in a similar role
- Design experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- Experience in front-end development (HTML/CSS/JS/JQUERY/AJAX). Strong HTML5 and CSS programming skills, including the ability to write reusable, optimized, maintainable code and good software documentation.
- Strong working knowledge of personal computers, browsers, mobile devices, interactive products, and web-related applications. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Experience in updating web pages online (domains, hosting, how they work).
- Familiarity with web services and concepts (REST, XML, JSON).
- Fully comfortable working in English, both in writing and spoken

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong history of providing exceptional customer service to customers and employees.
- Strong communication and written skills and the ability to articulate ideas and problem-solving approaches.
- Experience in streaming video, media or related digital entertainment.
- Some familiarity with server-programming frameworks and languages (C/C++, Perl, PHP, Python).
- Some familiarity with the key points of e-Commerce businesses, such as website creation, traffic, and conversions. Prior experience in the e-Commerce industry.
- Prior experience with WHM/cpanel.
