The job profile can be divided into two sections, which are following: -Risk Inspection / Asset Valuation. We conduct the risk inspection to assess the probable risk and help in underwriting the policy so that correct consideration can be charged from the Insured. It includes comprehensive survey of the unit studying the industrial process, layout, construction, management & employee relations, inherent perils, past history of losses, safety measures in place, recommending loss minimizing measures etc. We are also involved in valuation exercise so as to arrive at the correct worth of the Insureds insurable interests. -Claim Adjustment / Handling When Insured incurs some kind of loss we are appointed by the Insurer to investigate the claim objectively. It includes the ascertaining authenticity of the claim, spot survey, advising the insured about the risk management, collect necessary documents, settling salvage and do the loss adjustment adhering to policy conditions. My experience at CLIP has given me the opportunity to enhance my soft skills but also given exposure to the operations and the dynamics of a manufacturing industry, inventory, transportation industry and the functioning of finance and control organs of different companies.
