Job Description

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of wildlife research, teaching and training. The Institute invites application from the Indian nationals for the following research personnel, through a Qualifying test followed by Interview(s).

Essential Qualification : B. Tech or equivalent degree in Computer Science/ Programming or relevant field with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Candidate should have experience in working with ArcGIS JavaScript API and server management.

Desirable Qualification : Candidate(s) with prior experience in programming with presentable outputs such as development of API, portals, servers and programming language packages will be preferred. Knowledge of python/ C#/ php/ R integration/ SQL/ Web services/ WCF services/ IIS and other aspects of webtechnologies is preferred.

Description of work : Web portal is planned as a dynamic database hosted on ArcGIS server. The candidate will need to design and develop Web-GIS apps to host GIS layers and services.

Age Limit : 28 years.

The Institute is looking for bright candidates for filling up of Group-A Scientific 05 (five) positions of ‘Scientist-C’ on Direct Recruitment (D.R.) basis. The applications are invited from citizens of India for filling up of the following posts:
Qualification : Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Life Sciences/Computer Science/Veterinary Sciences with 03 (THREE) years experience in wildlife research. OR Ph.D. in any of above fields with 01 (ONE) year experience in the above field.
Age: Not exceeding 31 years in case of candidates possessing Master’s degree and 34 years in case of candidates having Ph.D. degree as on last date of receipt of application.
