Job Description

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of wildlife research, teaching and training. The Institute invites application from the Indian nationals for the following research personnel, through a Qualifying test followed by Interview(s).

Essential Qualification : Masters’ Degree in Mathematics/ Statistics with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Minimum two years of research experience after Masters’ degree is required.

Desirable Qualification : Candidate(s) with prior experience in analysing biological and/or field observation data are preferred. Knowledge of R program is desirable. Publications in peer-reviewed journals in relevant field is desirable.

Description of work : The work involves analysis of the data originating from camera-trapping, distance sampling and radio-telemetry. Developing methods for analysis of population and movement data would be involved. Candidate will have to work with a multidisciplinary team of ecologists and sociologist.

The Institute is looking for bright candidates for filling up of Group-A Scientific 05 (five) positions of ‘Scientist-C’ on Direct Recruitment (D.R.) basis. Qualification : Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Life Sciences/Computer Science/Veterinary Sciences with 03 (THREE) years experience in wildlife research. OR Ph.D. in any of above fields with 01 (ONE) year experience in the above field.
