Job Description

Quality Inspector is responsible to check the quality of all incoming child components (Raw Material, Bought out finished goods, WIP & FG) also outgoing material (finished gear box).

He will be a firm advocate of quality in our business.

The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment. That way our customers will enjoy high-quality products so that we can achieve long-term success.

Duties & responsibilities:

• Inspection: Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced & monitor operations to ensure that they meet production standards. Measure products with rulers, calipers, gauges, varnier, or micrometers. Inspect raw materials to ensure consistency and correctness as per company requirement. Maintain, test, troubleshoot & calibrate all instrument & related devices. Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting a visual and measurement test, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

• Observation: Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process

• Discussion: Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions. Manage our quality assurance division and ensure all employees meet their required quotas

• Recording: Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day • Material Management: Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. Accept or reject finished items. Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests. Return products for re-work if needed and complete documentation to confirm re-work

• Solution oriented: Studying a design sheet & thinking of possible design solutions
• Practical Approach: Researching whether the design will work and be cost-effective. Assessing the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design. Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects, processes & components
• Design Feasibility: Making design of products using CAD, and consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure that designs are feasible
• Testing: Developing and build designs and run tests to measure their level of function. Recording and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance and efficiency standards
• Interdepartmental Co-ordination: Consulting with production department during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance to Assembly Department as and when required
• Market Study: Researching competitor's products and collaborate with product development team to generate ideas for making our products the best ones on the market
• Product & Process Cost Study: Calculating cost estimates for final product designs, and release reports to supervisors, incorporating costs of labor, material, delivery and overhead
• Planning & Monitoring: Attending weekly team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on colleagues’ progress, strategize on steps for following week and acquire information about projected emerging product lines.
Identifying new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs. Planning effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.
• Effective Communication: Communicating effectively with the clients, colleagues and vendor/supplier involved in a project to guide and identify their requirements
Writing technical reports to summaries findings. Actively participating in Lean Manufacturing activities.
