Job Description

Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution under Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has its main campus in Koramangala, Bengaluru and CREST campus at Hosakote, Bengaluru. It operates field stations at Kavalur & Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu, Gauribidanur in Karnataka, and Leh/Hanle, Ladakh in Jammu & Kashmir.

Minimum Educational Qualification : B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the aggregate from a recognized University/Institution;

Desirable : Candidate should be proficient in Open Source development plotform, experience in tools such as Slack, Jira, Jenkins, JVM-based languages – Java and Scala, C/C++ and JPython.

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering from a University/Institution recognized by the UGC/AICTE with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Desirable : Basic knowledge and some experience in the following:
a) Manufacturing processes
b) Mechanical drawings
c) Measuring tools like Vernier Calliper, Micrometer, etc.
d) Microsoft Office and CAD tools like Solid works.
