Job Description

The following posts are to be filled purely on contract and temporary basis from willing eligible candidates to work in Jharkhand for the ICMR funded ad-project titled “RATIONS study: A cluster randomized trial of nutritional support (food rations) to reduce TB incidence in household contacts of patients with smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis in communities with a high prevalence of under-nutrition (total duration: 3 years) implemented by this institute. This project is a joint collaborative venture of NIRT, Chennai as well as Center for Nutrition Studies, YENEPOYA (Deemed to be University), Mangalore.

Essential qualification : 12th class pass with science subjects with at least 2 years of experience relevant to this project. Relaxation of essential qualification to 12th Class pass with other subjects will be considered for those with relevant field experience. Fresh 12th Class pass-outs or those with experience not relevant to this project need not apply.

Desirable qualifications : Previous experience in field based studies or programmes, especially those related to TB or nutrition in Jharkhand and in the district concerned, will be considered desirable. Skills in nutritional assessment, entering data and good communication skills and community interactions would be highly desirable. Candidates should have a valid driving license and own a 2-wheeler vehicle to enable their travel. Proof of domicile in the district of work would be preferred.

Age limit : Not exceeding 30 years. Age limit relaxation may be considered for SC/ST/OBC candidates or those with field level experience. Candidates under EWS will have to submit a certificate in the attached format.

The following posts are to be filled purely on contract basis for 2 months, in the non-institutional ad-hoc project titled ‘Targeted Intervention to expand and strengthen TB Control in tribal population and Strengthening implementation and operational research under RNTCP in India’ at Gujarat, implemented by this Institute.
Qualification : Graduate in Anthropology / Sociology / Life Sciences /psychology/social work/ medical sociology/ from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification : Experience of working in Tribal area A degree/diploma in public health or equivalent. Two years experience of working in National TB Programmes or two years experience of working in field based projects.
Age Limit : Not exceeding 35 Years.
