Job Description

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of wildlife research, teaching and training. The Institute invites application from the Indian nationals for the following research personnel, through a Qualifying test followed by Interview(s).

Essential Qualification : Master's degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Environmental Science or management / Geoinformatics / M.Tech. in Remote Sensing & GIS or related subjects from a recognized university and minimum one year work experience in similar field.

Desirable Qualification : Experience of working on application of GIS and Remote Sensing technology in the assessment of wildlife habitat.

Description of work : Work on the corridor ecology in Kaziranga - Karbi Anglong Landscape and delineate possible corridors linking Kazrianga Tiger Reserve with surrounding landscape and examine the functionality of these corridors through fieldwork and spatial analysis.

Age Limit : 35 years.

The Institute is looking for bright candidates for filling up of Group-A Scientific 05 (five) positions of ‘Scientist-C’ on Direct Recruitment (D.R.) basis. The applications are invited from citizens of India for filling up of the following posts:
Qualification : Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Life Sciences/Computer Science/Veterinary Sciences with 03 (THREE) years experience in wildlife research. OR Ph.D. in any of above fields with 01 (ONE) year experience in the above field.
Age: Not exceeding 31 years in case of candidates possessing Master’s degree and 34 years in case of candidates having Ph.D. degree as on last date of receipt of application.
