Job Description

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) is an autonomous academic national institution of the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India dedicated to research in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Allied Sciences & Technology. The Institute has its main campus in Koramangala, Bangalore and CREST Campus at Hosakote, Bangalore.

Qualification : Full time post graduate degree in M.E/M.Tech in Optical Engineering/Astronomy Instrumentation/Optics with a minimum of 60% marks in the aggregate or equivalent grade from a recognised University/ Institution.

Work Experience: (a) Essential: One or more years of experience of working in activities related in the design /build/test/calibration of optical payloads in reputed institutions. (b) Desirable: Preference will be given to candidates with experience in space-based astronomy instruments.

Age : Below 32 years

Desirable : Basic knowledge and some experience in the following:
a) Manufacturing processes
b) Mechanical drawings
c) Measuring tools like Vernier Calliper, Micrometer, etc.
d) Microsoft Office and CAD tools like Solid works.
