Job Description

NIRDPR is an apex organization for training and research on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. It also functions as a think tank for the Ministry in policy advocacy in Rural Development & Panchayati Raj. NIRDPR invites online applications from Indian Nationals for the following academic posts on Direct Recruitment -

Qualification : (i) Academic Qualifications : a)First or High Second class Post Graduate degree (with marks of 55% and above) Sociology, Social/ Cultural Anthropology, Economics, Social Work, Rural Development, Population &Development Studies, Forest Management, Agriculture, Management, Rural Development, Social Sciences, Economics, Banking, Political Science, Public Administration, Local Governance, M.Tech (in any field of Science & Technology including Geo-informatics, Space Technology, Spatial Information Technology), Library Science, Journalism, Mass Media and Statistics. b)Ph.D. in the relevant discipline.

Experience : a) Atleast 10 years’ experience in teaching in a recognized University or training and/or research in any recognized Institution, of which at least 5 years should be at the level equivalent to that of an Associate Professor in the University/ training/ research Institution of repute. b) Experience shall be relevant to any of the following areas related to Rural Development & Panchayati Raj:

i. Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation

ii. Agrarian Studies

iii. Natural Resource Management

iv. Self Employment/ Rural Enterprises / Rural Livelihoods

v. Wage Employment

vi. Tribal Studies/ Equity and Social Development

vii. Panchayati Raj/ Panchayati Raj Finances and Local Governance

viii. Social Audit

ix. Quantitative Techniques

x. Media Studies / Development Studies/ Mass Communication

xi. Distance Education

xii. ICT /Geo-information Applications

xiii. Public Policy/ Gender Studies/ Good Governance

xiv. Rural Development Management

xv. Human Resources Development

xvi. Grassroot Innovations.

xvii. Financial Inclusion

xviii. Disaster Management

Applicants are advised to indicate areas of their suitability based on their qualification and experience at the top of the prescribed application form. (iii) For the Centre for Information & Communication Technology (CICT), in exceptional cases, relaxation of Ph.D. condition in case of candidates with M.Tech degree having post experience of 12 years in software development/teaching/ research etc. with consistent good published work, training, industry etc. can be considered.

Desirable Qualifications : Independent research/ field experience with published books/ papers based on original work, etc. and should have made some mark in the area of scholarship as evidenced by quality of publications, contribution to educational innovation, design of new courses and Curriculum. Research papers in national/ International Journals in the relevant fields indicated above. Knowledge in ICT Applications and SPSS software.

About National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj

The Centre for Financial Inclusion & Entrepreneurship (CFIE), NIRDPR, Hyderabad invites on-line applications for two contractual positions for its research and training activities. The details/requirements of the positions are specified in the table as given below.
Qualification : Post Graduation in Social Sciences/ Statistics/Management from a recognized University.
Desirable : i. PGDBM/MBA (Banking/Finance/Marketing) from a recognized University or Institute. ii. Prior experience in banks/training institutes is an added advantage.
Experience : 3-5 years in the relevant area.
Age Limit : Maximum of 40 years.
Period of contract : Initially for a period of one year. Extendable after one year purely based on performance.
