Job Description

The National Centre for Earth Science Studies (NCESS) is an autonomous research organization under ESSO/MoES, which has been mandated to excel in understanding the deep internal and surface processes of solid earth, its interactive mechanism with the hydrosphere and atmosphere and to address various scientific issues concerning to the society.

Qualification : Matriculation pass OR ITI pass.

Job Profile : a. Collection and preliminary analysis of geological samples, preparation of thin sections and assisting in field surveys. b. Maintenance of chemical laboratory, collection of soil, sediment and water samples and assisting in field surveys. c. Deployment of field equipment, maintenance of marine instruments and assisting in field surveys d. Delivery of dak within and outside office/opening and closing of rooms/Upkeep of section/Photocopying/assistance in sorting of mails etc.

Age Limit : Not exceeding 30 years.

About National Centre for Earth Science Studies

Qualifications & Experience :
Essential : First class Postgraduate Degree in Oceanography/Ocean Science/Ocean Engineering/Ocean Technology/Marine Structures/Physics/Marine Geology or equivalent. Research experience in Coastal Studies.
Desirable : Candidates having CSIR-NET and/or valid GATE Score will be preferred. Experience in Modelling Work related to Coastal Processes and Coastal Applications using State-of-the art Numerical Modelling software,MATLAB Programming,data processing and analysis of measured data etc. Experience in coastal sediment sampling,analysis and data interpretation.
Age Limit : 28 Years.
