Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced migrant worker recruiter to advise on migrant labour recruitment procedures in Uttar Pradesh. This is a consultant position.
The ideal candidate should have experience recruiting low- and medium-skill workers for work abroad in construction, domestic work, hospitality, FM or similar sectors. This person should have placed Indian workers abroad in Gulf countries before. The ideal candidate has worked extensively in Uttar Pradesh, including Kanpur or other large cities.
Responsibilities and Duties
This position is responsible for providing advice, recommendations and guidance on low-skilled migrant worker recruitment processes.
Required knowledge includes:
- the **informal/unofficial processes** involved in low-skilled migrant worker recruitment;
- familiarity with the specific people, government offices, paperwork, fees, visa processes and logistics involved in migrant worker recruitment;
- practical, step-by-step understanding of how low-skilled labour recruitment works;
- other similar / relevant knowledge.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
- an extensive background (5-10 years of experience) working as a migrant worker recruiter in India (and UP, specifically);
- recruited construction workers, maids/domestic workers, cleaners or other roles for jobs in the Gulf; -is adept at answering many detailed questions;
- is fluent in English and is a good verbal communicator
Benefits
This position is a one-month, part-time consultancy (about 2-4 hours per week); if both sides agree, it can be extended to an ongoing arrangement.
