Job Description

Applications in the prescribed format are invited for the following post on purely temporary basis for the ICMR Research Project titled “Burden of multidrug-resistant neonatal sepsis in district hospital settings in India”, under Principal Investigator Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Neonatology, AIIMS, Jodhpur as per the details given below:

Essential Qualification : 1. Graduation Degree in Science from a recognized university; OR 2. 12th class pass with science subject (in 10+2 system) or Intermediate (Science) or equivalent from a recognized university/institution. 3. Diploma in Medical Laboratory Techniques from a recognized institute and. 4. One year experience in a microbiology laboratory. 5. Lab Technician degree should be registered in paramedical council of Rajasthan/India.

Desirable : Experience in microbiology.

Job profile : The Lab technician will be responsible for: 1. Labeling, scanning, immediate processing and storage of collected bio specimens at Tertiary Site. 2. Collecting the reports of the routine laboratory tests performed for the enrolled infant from the side lab or designated outsourced laboratory. 3. Maintaining laboratory records in the eCRF. 4. Maintaining the equipment log, calibration logs, ensuring smooth functioning of equipment at site. 5. Receiving, labeling and analyzing samples. 6. Designing and executing laboratory testing according standard procedures. 7. Organize and store all bio specimens according to safety instructions. 8. Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility. 9. Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies. 10. Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Skills : 1. Excellent reading comprehension and strong written as well as verbal communication skills including good command of English required. 2. Good understanding of needs for project and job responsibilities. 3. Computer skills including proficiency in use of Microsoft Office applications. 4. Good organizational behavior and problem solving skills 5. Well versed in recording the data. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, investigators.

Age Limit : 18-30 years.
