Job Description

Applications are invited on plain paper for the following assignment on a purely time bound Project undertaken in the various Departments / Centres / Schools of the Institute. Interested eligible persons may apply (quote SRIC Reference on the top of the Application) on plain paper giving full bio-data along with attested copies of testimonials and a demand draft of the application fee drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur payable at Kharagpur on or before last date mentioned against each. Selected candidates shall be allowed to register for MS/PhD subject to their fulfillment of the requirement for MS/PhD admission in IIT Kharagpur.

Qualification : 1. M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/Production Engineering/Industrial with experience in mechanical engineering design. Masters in Design (M. Design) with experience in fabrication is also acceptable. Applicant must have a qualified GATE score. 2. M.Tech in Control & Instrumentation/ Biomedical Engineering with experience in Bio-signal & system analysis, embedded system development, control algorithms development and synthesis. Should be able to interface bio-signals with external devices such as physiological signal controlled of robotic/prosthetic devices. Applicant must have a qualified GATE score.

Relevant Experience : The project is about development of an exoskeleton for neuro-muscular rehabilitation. This will involve measurement of human motion, development of mechanical devices to aid in movement rehabilitation and measure forces, acquire related bio/physiological signal & develop biosignal based rehabilitation system etc. JRF1 Strong working knowledge in CAD-CAM software is essential. Experience in Projects involving fabrication of real systems interworking with humans from the design stage will be desired. Any additional background in Mechatronics, Robotics, Control Systems / Embedded Control Systems in industry / academic research is preferable. Candidates with 2 or more years’ experience and having research publications will be given higher preference. JRF2 should be able to interface bio-signals with external devices such as physiological signal controlled of prosthetic devices. Development of control algorithm based on the features of physiological signal analysis. Additional background in Mechatronics, Robotics, Control Systems / Embedded Control Systems, Machine Intelligence, artificial Intelligence in industry / academic research is preferable.

Application Fee : Demand Draft for Rs.50/- (Not for female candidates) drawn in favour of IIT Kharagpur payable at Kharagpur.

Age Limit : 25 years.
