Job Description

The Wildlife Institute of India (WII) is a premier autonomous Institute under the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, in the field of wildlife research, teaching and training. The Institute invites application from the Indian nationals for the following research personnel, through a Qualifying test followed by Interview(s).

Essential Qualification : Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Social Science/ Environmental Sciences/ Statistics/ Anthropology with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable Qualification : Preferably having experience/interest in: natural history of north-east India, wildlife surveys, camera trapping, movement ecology, socio-cultural surveys, quantitative methods, R, GIS-RS and most importantly keen desire to carryout arduous field work in the remote and rugged landscape of north east India under extreme cold or rainy conditions with minimal logistic support.

Description of work : Work involves ecological study on Takin in selected areas of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

The Institute is looking for bright candidates for filling up of Group-A Scientific 05 (five) positions of ‘Scientist-C’ on Direct Recruitment (D.R.) basis. The applications are invited from citizens of India for filling up of the following posts:
Qualification : Master Degree in Wildlife Science/Life Sciences/Computer Science/Veterinary Sciences with 03 (THREE) years experience in wildlife research. OR Ph.D. in any of above fields with 01 (ONE) year experience in the above field.
Age: Not exceeding 31 years in case of candidates possessing Master’s degree and 34 years in case of candidates having Ph.D. degree as on last date of receipt of application.
