Responsibilities
Support software development with database operations including DDL and DML changes, query optimization, storage optimization, and overall database design guidance and integration for Vertica and MySQL databases, used by different 24/7 systems.
Perform database administration tasks including maintenance, upgrades, user management, monitoring, performance tuning, and data purging.
Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain MySQL databases in production and non-production environments.
Knowledge of running Mysql on Unix/Linux.
Support local/across the DC failover with High Availability Disaster Recovery environment with MySQL native Replication. Participate in Database Maintenance and DR activities.
Work with various teams to control and execute day-to-day database operations
Develop strategies and implement solutions for database continuous testing, integration and delivery
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Information technology field is a must.
5+ years of experience engineering, administering and managing multiple relational databases. MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server.
2+ years of experience engineering, administering and managing multiple NoSQL database flavors. MongoDB, Cassandra or DynamoDB(preferred).
Deep knowledge and experience on designing and maintaining relational databases. MySQL (required), PostgreSQL, Mysql and MS SQL server.
Knowledge and experience on designing and maintaining NoSQL database. MongoDB (with/without Sharding), DynamoDB with Dynamo streams and Cassandra
3-4 years of MySQL GoldenGate experience, managing complex replication topology
InnoDB Cluster Experience is a plus
Strong understanding of MySQL database fundamentals
Strong understanding of MySQL Native Replication fundamentals
Strong understanding of MySQL database security management
Should have strong UNIX platform skills and understanding of network, storage, tiered application environments and secur
